WHO IS Deborah & WHAT IS THE BUILD A FAMILY ALTAR CHALLENGE
I grew up in a challenging home environment of blended family members and a lot of chaos in the early years.
Although we looked good on the outside, and sometimes on the inside, the truth was that we had a lot of elephants in the room that were not talked about.
I had a mixture of feelings that I never felt comfortable sharing, which led me to a pattern of emotional denial and stuffing feelings. I hid in that denial until God decided it was time to walk me out of my traumas.
7 years in Celebrate Recovery then 7 years in counseling ending with a few years in deliverance. I felt that raising my son in church was all that was needed, and I felt good that I had done better than my parents.
Then God revealed that I needed to raise him in Christ. The Lord was faithful to lead me on that journey and I have been on it ever since.
Then He put the book “Fire on the Family Altar” by Cheryl Sacks which gave me clarity to what He had already done and helped me see other areas I could improve on. We as a family are operating at a stronger spiritual level and growing closer to Him and each other every day.
